Our Butterfly Room
Our butterfly room consists of a natural large environment with free flow access to our outdoor provision and Children are encouraged to access outdoor provision in all weathers.

Alongside our continuous provision and free flow ethos we provide an array of structured activities for our younger toddlers to participate in, such as; music and dancing, exploring colour through messy play (we love messy play!!) and building with a variety of resources.
​
We enjoy exploration of instruments, new songs and actions as well as encouraging imagination through rein acting real life experiences.
​
Within our butterfly room we aim to support children to express themselves in a natural, comfortable environment and learn the importance of independence skills.
We encourage all children to take the lead in their own learning and all children develop at different rates.
We are commited to our partnership with parents on toilet training and encouraging independence on an individual basis.
​
We provide children with opportunites to be independent such as supporting them to safely cut their own snack and pour their own drink!
​
Our butterfly room also focus on school readiness. In preparation we support children to be able to communicate and express their needs confidently, encourage independence in self-care and support early literacy and numeracy skills following the childs interest.
Children are able complete free flow of all areas which are designed and carefully put together following the childrens interest to develop all 7 areas of development.

Our areas never stay the same following the childrens interest we have gone from home corners to air ports to a bear cave!!
​
We use natural materials and real objects such as real cups in our home corner to create a sense of belonging and to represent home life it has also has many benefits such as teaching consequence, cause and effect and responsibility
​
Most importantly we urge children to be happy and safe!
